A Good Book - by odd at 2009-10-26 - 22:06
Now that there, my friends, was a Good Book. It stirred the soul it was dramatic, it was riveting to the end and was populated by a cast of interesting characters and set in an interesting period, while also having a decent moral message. It took the author six years to write it; it took me three days to finish all of its 600+ pages - and they weren't days I did nothing besides, either.

Perhaps... - by odd at 2009-10-01 - 02:13
Perhaps I would stop perceiving my life as a failure when I consider its futility, its lack of seriousness and the importance of just being with the people you care about.
Then again, I may seriously regret not achieving while I still have the chance - why do these things seem to be contradictory? Why must there be confounding factors? Why must I let one person drive me up the wall so much? Can't one just chill out, have fun, and achieve effortlessly at the same time?

Outrage, v1239.1 - by odd at 2009-09-23 - 14:04
"Aanrechtsubsidie" (roughly translating to "kitchen sink subsidy"), a slang term for the so-called "algemene heffingskorting" - used even by the government - it means you pay less tax if you're a Stephen Fry-damned homemaker. How medieval is that?

Financial Doom Prophet Strikes Again - by odd at 2009-09-16 - 01:14
To aid you all, dear friends, in understanding what the fuck this is all about, I will make an effort to explain this in Jip and Janneke-language, if only to gauge whether I myself understand what in the name of Stephen Fry is going on. I apologize beforehand for the excessively liberal use of Gross Generalization.

There's a first time for everything. - by odd at 2009-09-11 - 11:12
This time, it's nothing sexual, either. Unfortunately , today was the first time for something else, something rather unpleasant, and it's only 10 am.
Never before had I fainted, and it is a very, very curious experience. Let me tell you about what happened.

And to think I'd've voted for the other guy. Well, not the obvious other guy, the underdog-other guy.
